TEA to release 2023 Accountability Ratings

This week, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) is expected to release 2023 A–F accountability ratings for school districts and campuses across the state—the first release since 2021. The delay is due to ongoing legal disputes over the system’s fairness and structure, many of which are still being resolved. The ratings will be shared here on the TEA website.

At Medina Valley ISD, we believe that student success cannot be measured by a single test. In addition to reviewing state accountability ratings, we remain focused on our own internal measures of success through our Medina Valley ISD District Scorecard. This tool allows us to track student progress, monitor district goals, and hold ourselves accountable to the values and priorities of our community. It reflects the broader vision we have for student achievement—beyond what a single state-issued rating can show. Here you can find a recent video on our District Scorecard.

We remain committed to transparency, high standards, and doing what’s best for every student. The TEA’s A–F rating is one lens, but not the full view. We will use it as one data point—and continue to focus on helping every student grow and succeed beyond the limits of any letter grade.
