Honor Guard/Color Guard/Saber:

Commander: c/ Larry Davie

These elite units have the honor of presenting the national, state, and school flags at school and community events/functions. They also compete against other schools in color guard competitions. Special uniform items distinguish the Color Guard from other units. Only cadets who display the highest standards of military bearing, appearance, and dependability are selected. Saber teams perform saber arches at the military ball, the homecoming football game, the homecoming dance, and other ceremonies as required.
 

CyberPatriots:

Commander: c/ Jaslyn Young 

CyberPatriot is the National Youth Cyber Education Program. At the center of Cyber Patriot is the National Youth Cyber Defense Competition. The competition puts teams of high school and middle school students in the position of newly hired IT professionals tasked with managing the network of a small company. In the rounds of competition, teams are given a set of virtual images that represent operating systems and are tasked with finding cybersecurity vulnerabilities within the images and hardening the system while maintaining critical services in a six-hour period. Teams compete for the top placement within their state and region, and the top teams in the nation earn all-expenses-paid trips to Baltimore, Maryland for the National Finals Competition where they can earn national recognition and scholarship money.
 

Drill (Unarmed Exhibition Drill) Team:

Drill Teams compete against other schools in unarmed competition. The drill meets are generally held on Saturdays during the months of November through April. A great deal of after-school practice is required to be polished, precise, and sharp in military drill. Members must meet established qualifications. The rewards and recognition for outstanding individual and team performance are worth the effort because trophies are awarded to the top teams and individuals.
 

Physical Training/Raider Team:

Commander: c/ Amerie Olmos

Some drill competitions also have PT competitions; usually consisting of pull-ups, sit-ups, push-ups, and squat jumps all within a certain time frame in addition to a 1 to 2-mile relay. Males and females compete for trophies and scores may be/can be figured into the overall drill meet team results.
 
Academic Challenge :

Commander: c/ Trevor Allen

Members compete online and in quiz bowl competitions by answering questions covering various topics including AFJROTC knowledge, mathematics, reading comprehension, science, vocabulary, current events, etc. Overall, the team participates in fast-paced, academically challenging, and highly competitive tournaments and exercises.
 
Kitty Hawk Honor Society (KHHS):
Commander: c/ Connor Fleming
The Kitty Hawk Honor Society (KHHS) program is the official National Honor Society of Air Force JROTC (AFJROTC) and Space Force JROTC (SFJROTC) and has three primary objectives: Uphold high academic standards, Promote school and/or community service, and Develop leadership skills. 
KHHS also recognizes academic excellence and furthers members’ educational knowledge. Units are encouraged to recruit their best and brightest cadets to lead the Honor Society program. Instructors have the flexibility to adjust the program organizational structure, eligibility requirements, membership process, and program operations based on the needs of their unit. If adjustments are made, instructors should continue to adhere to the three primary program objectives.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Be an active cadet in JROTC, Be a second, third- or fourth-year cadet, Be in good standing in JROTC and in their high school, Has no significant disciplinary issues within the last academic year, Maintains at least an overall 3.0 GPA in high school and 4.0 GPA in JROTC, Completed at least 8 hours of community service, and Displays the desire to further their academic, service and leadership ability
 
Model Rocketry Club
Commander: TBA

Members of this activity will learn how to build and launch model rockets. The team normally competes three to four times in the season.

 

Awareness Presentation Team
Commander: TBA
Any cadet is eligible to participate if the following requirements are met; uniform grade of 95 or higher, passing all grades with a minimum grade of a B in JROTC, academic/discipline referrals will be evaluated by instructors and must present a professional military image. This team will select members to go on recruiting trips to Medina Valley and Loma Alta Middle Schools.
 
Airsoft Military Tactics Club
Commander: C/ Cashten McMillan
Members of this club will learn firearm safety and infantry combat tactics. Lessons may include room clearing, moving in a squad, marksmanship, securing and defending an objective, and other key skills. Members will go through airsoft matches in both indoor and outdoor simulated combat environments.
 
Drone Team
Commander: C/ Xianna Esquivel
Members of this team will learn how to procure, repair, fly, and maintain multi-copters and drones. This program is new to MVHS so as the membership and experience grow, the team will look to compete in local competitions sanctioned through UIL as well as aid the district with POV camera capabilities.
 
Flags
Commander: C/ Ariana Bermea
Members of this detail/team will learn how to raise and lower the flags at the high school before and after school. Additionally, they could go to various schools throughout the district to teach other students how to raise and lower the flags properly.
 
Gaming Team
Commander: C/ Preston Bishop
Members of this team are eligible to compete together in esports competitions as well as practice together working on communication and collaboration skills.
